What structured data is and why you need it
Structured data is a short description of a page in a language search engines understand: this is a product, here is its price, this is the article's author, and the shop is at this address. It's written in JSON-LD using the Schema.org vocabulary and added to the page code. Google, Bing and Yandex use it for rich snippets: rating stars, prices, breadcrumbs and event dates.
Markup alone won't push your site up in rankings, but it makes your snippet stand out and helps search engines and AI assistants understand the page correctly.
Where to put the code
Copy the whole block including the script tag and paste it into the head section or at the end of the body of the page. In WordPress, use a code snippet plugin or a field in your SEO plugin; in Tilda, use the "HTML code" block. The markup must match what visitors see: don't mark up a rating or price that isn't on the page.
How to test the markup
Click "Test in Google": the code is copied, and in the Rich Results Test that opens, paste it on the code tab. The Schema.org validator checks against the whole vocabulary, not just what Google supports. After publishing, keep an eye on the "Enhancements" section in Google Search Console.

It's a way to write structured data as a separate script block. Google recommends it: the code doesn't mix with your layout and is easy to add and update. Other formats, Microdata and RDFa, go right into HTML tags and are harder to maintain.
For a company home page, use "Organization", or "Local business" if you have an address and opening hours. For a product page, use "Product"; for blog posts and news, "Article"; for events, "Event". "Breadcrumbs" fit almost any inner page, and "Website" goes on the home page.
Yes. Each script block works on its own: a product page can have product and breadcrumb markup, and the home page can have organization and website markup. Just don't mark up the same thing twice with different data.
Markup is only a request; Google makes the decision. It looks at page quality, whether the markup matches the text, and the rules for each type. Since 2023, FAQ rich results are mostly shown for government and health sites, and Google removed the sitelinks search box in 2024. The markup still does no harm and helps search engines understand the page.
No. Fields with an asterisk are required, the rest are recommended: the more accurate data, the better. Empty fields are left out of the code.
No. The code is built right in your browser and nothing goes to our server. The fields you fill in are saved only in this browser so they aren't lost when you reload the page.
