Which sort order you need
"A-Z" and "Z-A" sort alphabetically by the rules of the language: é sits next to e, and capital letters next to lowercase ones. "Natural" puts "file 2" before "file 10", the way a person would. "By number" looks at the first number in the line: prices, SKUs, ranking positions. "By length" moves short lines to the top.
Cleanup and formatting
You can trim spaces at line edges, remove empty lines and duplicates all at once. The prefix and suffix are added to every line: for example, quotes and a comma to get a list for code or a spreadsheet. Numbering puts 1., 2., 3. in front of the lines.
Shuffle a list
"Shuffle" puts the lines in random order - handy for giveaways, quiz questions or speaking order. Click again to reshuffle.

Paste the list into the left field and choose "A-Z". The sorted list appears on the right. For reverse order, choose "Z-A" or turn on "Reverse order".
That's how regular alphabetical sorting works: it compares characters one by one. Choose "Natural" or "By number" and 2 will come before 10.
Turn on "Remove duplicates". If case doesn't matter, leave "Match case" off - then "Apple" and "apple" count as the same line. There is a separate page for working with duplicates only.
