  • It's text that is in the file but not visible on the page: covered with a white box, made invisible or white, or moved off the page. You can't see it, but it can be copied or extracted by software.

  • We render each page and check whether every word from the file is visible on it. If nothing is drawn where the text is, it's marked as hidden.

  • Open the file in the PDF editor, go to the "Text" tab and click "Delete all hidden text". The hidden text is removed from the file when you save.

  • No. The editor works right in your browser: the file is never uploaded to a server. So you can safely edit contracts, passports and other personal documents.

  • No. When you change the document's text, the edited page is saved so that the old value is not left in the file - it cannot be copied or seen in the properties. Pages you did not change stay as normal text you can select and search.
